Lisa Federici and her husband David Bassett from Scansite met Sara Holmes down at the fountain on Wednesday 20 January 2015 at 3:30pm to begin setting up the scanning equipment to 3-D scan the volute with its acanthus tip, and the pedestal at the base of the fountain. The bear and the acanthus finial were picked up at Sarita Waite’s artist studio in Oakland, CA on 27 January. They were taken to the Scansite location in Woodacre, CA to be scanned there. They were returned to Sarita’s studio on 20 February 2015.
The scanning equipment takes quite a while to set up and calibrate. Scanning takes place after the sun sets.
