Friends and neighbors:

Season’s greetings from Friends of the Fountain and Walk!

As the wreath- and kippah-wearing grizzly bear cubs at its center attest, the Fountain at The Circle is now dressed in its holiday finery, with lighted garlands strung around the perimeter of the fountain island. The display will be lighted from dusk until at least 9 each evening through year’s end.

2020 has been an extraordinary year. The pandemic and politics have affected us all in so many ways. We hope that you and your loved ones and friends have been able to stay safe and well.

Throughout the past several challenging months, our all-volunteer organization has managed to continue its focus on maintaining our beloved local landmarks. And thanks to our community’s ongoing support, this year FOFW was able to:

> Help fund needed repairs to the balustrade on Fountain Walk.

> Continue maintenance on and around The Circle and Walk.

> Deal with multiple soapings of the fountain.

> Organize meetings on Measure T1 bond funding for the Northbrae area.

At this time of year, we ask our community to continue its support so that we can continue our work. So if you haven’t already this year, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to FOFW. You can do so easily and securely now by online by clicking on the “Donate” button above. Or you can mail a check to FOFW at P.O. Box 7343, Berkeley CA 94707. (Friends of the Fountain and Walk is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.)

And there are other ways to get involved with FOFW. Maybe become a volunteer? Interested in joining our board? We’d love to hear from you: Drop us a line at fountainandwalk@gmail.com.

Thanks again to everyone again for your support over the years. We wish you a warm and wonderful holiday season.
