August 17, 2017 | Date Change for September Work Party!
Leave your thoughts | Categorised in: VolunteeringFriends of the Fountain and Walk Volunteers (and would-be volunteers):
Because the next first Saturday of the month, our normal volunteer work party day, is part of the Labor Day holiday weekend, we are moving September’s Circle and Walk maintenance day to the following Saturday, Sept. 9.
We hope that will make it easier for those with holiday plans to join us and take part in our monthly sprucing up of the area around our neighborhood landmarks.
If you can, please join us any time beginning at 9 a.m. We usually work until at least 11. As usual, the volunteer sign-up sheet will be on the clipboard by the tool shed. If you are new, ask for Steve or Mike to point you in the right direction.
We will have plenty to do so we hope a lot of you can make it! Thanks as always for finding time in your schedules to help! We look forward to seeing you Saturday, Sept. 9!
A note: The city has scheduled what appears to be a resurfacing of the asphalt in and around The Circle for Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 21-22. We hope that work will be fully complete before our work party. The city also plans to begin a project to move the fountain’s drainage system from the storm drain to the sanitary sewer, as required by law. The latest projected start was “mid-August,” so it could begin any time now. The next phase in Circle improvements is the re-landscaping of the green areas in and around The Circle. That is expected to begin in late September.
